The great musicians 2026

The Stef Rosen Organ Trio feat. Marko Jovanovic

Born and raised in a small village in the mountains of North Italy, Stef Rosen followed a path that led him first to Chicago, where he performed with legends like Lurrie Bell and Billy Branch, and then to Berlin, where he is currently based.
Stef hits the road with his organ trio, channeling the raw emotions of late ’60s and early ’70s soulful blues. With echoes of Bobby Blue Bland and Otis Redding in every phrase, Stef delivers a sound that’s both classic and strikingly fresh – where his warm soul voice and gritty guitar meet heartfelt songwriting.
In recent years, Stef has taken this powerful trio to stages around the world – from New York to Seoul, Beijing to Moscow, Paris to London – building a growing global fanbase.

The bluespapas – “blues full of Joy and good vibes”

Three seasoned musicians have come together under the name Bluespapas. Guitarist and vocalist Bernd Simon has been a successful figure in the German blues scene for around forty years, for example with the Matchbox Bluesband or the Down Home Percolators. Harmonica player Reiner Lenz and bassist Thomas Heldmann performed in over 500 shows at festivals, street parties, clubs, and pubs together with the much-too-early departed Jürgen Queissner as Papa Legba’s Blues Lounge.

With this wealth of stage experience and a true joy of playing, they bring the blues in all its diverse forms to life on stage.

Captain Swing plays the Blues

Captain Swing originally came together out of a love for swing, but they soon discovered that they also share a deep passion for the blues. As a result, the quartet often weaves blues numbers by artists such as Nina Simone, Etta James, Muddy Waters, Bessie Smith, and others into their swing sets—whether in concert settings or at dance events.

For the first time, Captain Swing has created an entire evening dedicated to the blues and is excited to perform at the very first Manhattan Blues Festival.
